ALEX VASITCH
NEVER SAY NO, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE, THERE IS ALWAYS A WAY

MY PHILOSOPHY
I have always believed it is a privilege to work in business & achieve the best experience possible for the clients I service. Pride in my work and dedication to the job at hand and a never say "it can't be done" attitude is what distinguishes the consistent achievers. There is nothing more satisfying in business than being responsible for a satisfied & appreciative acquaintance, whether that be a direct client or another employee.

Most important is a balanced lifestyle. Work honestly but balance your time with friends and family and the social things you love doing. Be respectful to your colleagues, be caring, be understanding and people will be the same to you.

MY EXPERIENCE
Expertise. Intuition. Ingenuity.
From a very young age I was interested in solving problems. I analysed problems & self-taught myself to program solutions on a Commodore 64 computer as a teenager. It was no coincidence then that my first full time job involved analysing customer needs, identifying software gaps and then designing & implementing custom add-ons to satisfy their requirements.

My work experience eventually led to me starting my own software business, developing the software from scratch & successfully competing with some large local players in the market. A lot was learnt, you learn much from your achievements & your mistakes, but most importantly it led me to experience all aspects of running a business which to this day gives me an excellent insight into the dynamics involved at a corporate overview level.
Although I have had extensive experience in every part of the software development life cycle including programming and also in other business functions such as consulting, training, sales, partner relations and management, below I list some of my experience for the things I most enjoy.

SOFTWARE/WEB ANALYSIS & DESIGN
It is what I love doing the most. Identifying needs and then designing the screens & the process flow & the outcomes. Communication is essential as you are the conduit between the user & the developer & need to be able to talk in layman's terms and technically.
For me the most important part of design is simplicity & consistency. Make process logical & keep flow consistent & you have a solution that is easy and desirable to use. We know how creative programmers can become. And that can be one of the challenging tasks facing the software designer.
PRESENTATION
One can develop software & do it very well but for business based applications it is a provider's presentation skills that give the best outcomes. When I talk about presentation I refer to, not only the demonstrating to prospects and training of clients on usage, but the associated tools & material that are developed & used to aid that process.
I have always been a stickler for up-to-date presentation material & this is why I have had an immense amount of experience developing context-sensitive help files within applications, hint sheets, user guides, online webinar videos and enhancement lists.

User guides & help files are the easiest thing to forego when under tight pressure to release that next version of the software.

IMPLEMENTING SOLUTIONS
The greatest aspect of implementing solutions is that you are out there amongst clients, analysing & defining their needs. Every business is different & you learn so much when exposed to the different industries. You often meet people who want to show you around & explain how things operate. You can see the pride they have for their organisation.
To be able to provide a solution that will solve issues, improve process & make their job easier is a very rewarding part of being an implementation consultant.
THERE'S MORE?
Functionally, over the many years, I have had exposure to many aspects of a business's application needs. The areas of extensive experience focus on accounting, payroll, human resource, occupational health & safety, time & attendance (and associated hardware), rostering & CRM.

I do however love experiencing new applications and learning new aspects of business & believe one of my greatest assets is the ability to learn & understand quickly. No-one knows everything (someone somewhere will disagree) and in the IT industry things move very quickly so it is your ability to keep learning passionately & to know where to ask for help if needed that allows one to succeed. I am always up for the challenge.

PORTFOLIO
I provide examples of some of my past endeavours. All of the outcomes were predominantly, if not all, developed & up-kept by myself. Most of the examples shown are from my time running my own business but there are also some web examples of sites I have helped develop for community organisations on a volunteer basis. As you will hopefully deduce my focus has always been on clean & consistent designs & functionality.
